Kansas LLC Fees in 2026: State Filing, Biennial Report and Agent
Kansas cut nearly every business filing fee effective February 27, 2026, published in the Kansas Register, Volume 45, Issue 7. Formation dropped from $160 to $85 online. This page lists what the state charges an LLC today, then our flat service pricing, then a sample three-year budget.
The Fee Table
| Filing | Amount | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Articles of Organization, Form DL | $85 online / $90 paper | One-time formation fee |
| Information Report | $90 online / $110 paper | Biennial, due April 15 of your parity year |
| Late report penalty | $10 | Applies past the due date; forfeiture risk after 90 days |
| Change of registered agent, Form ROA | $30 online / $35 paper | Whenever you switch agents or move the registered office |
| Foreign Business Application, Form FA | $115 | Out-of-state LLC registering to do business in Kansas |
What Changed in February 2026
Three stale numbers keep circulating, so here is the record set straight. Formation is no longer $160 online and $165 by mail; it is $85 and $90. The report is no longer the $50 annual filing older articles describe; Kansas went biennial on January 1, 2024, and the current Information Report runs $90 online or $110 on paper. And an agent change is $30 online rather than the bare $20 statutory base, because the state's service fees stack on top.
Our Pricing
Ready to get started?
Get Started- Formation: $199. Covers preparing and filing Form DL, plus the first year of registered agent service at no added charge.
- Registered agent: $99. That is the flat annual price from year two on, and also the standalone price if your LLC already exists.
- Foreign qualification: $199 + state fees. For an LLC formed elsewhere that needs Kansas authority; Kansas collects $115 on Form FA.
State fees always pass through at face value on top of our price.
Sample Budget: First Three Years
Take an LLC formed online through us in 2026:
| Year | Charges | Total |
|---|---|---|
| 2026 | $199 formation + $85 state fee | $284 |
| 2027 | $99 agent renewal | $99 |
| 2028 | $99 agent renewal + $90 Information Report | $189 |
Even-year formation puts the first report in 2028, per the parity rule covered on the annual requirements page. Odd-year formations shift the report to odd years; the amounts stay identical.
Reading Other Providers' Quotes
When a competitor's quote looks lower, check three places: whether the state's $85 is included or added later, whether registered agent service is a first-year teaser that renews high, and whether "compliance" is a separately billed subscription. Our numbers above are complete, and the registered agent page spells out exactly what the $99 annual price includes.
